Resources for Lent
Resources for Adults:
- This site provides an interesting survey of Church Fathers. Don't be put off by the "father" thing,
simply discover ancient church texts for yourself throught these forty days. Keep your Bible handy; these folks were incredibly scripturally based!
Be aware that these are historical texts that may reflect a distinct level of anti-Semitism and paternalism and sexism. Caveat emptor!
- Creighton U offers One Prayer a Day for Lent; simple yet profound opportunities to pray throughout Lent.
- Episcopal Relief and Development encourages 40 days in the Lenten Cycle of Prayer
where we remember the work of the ERD in forty countries.
Resources for Families with Children:
- Here's a wow! Love Life Live Lent -- a resource from across the Pond.
This may seem at first to be for kids, but in reality, it offers activities to honor our world
and environment throughout Lent and beyond. This gets three thumbs up!! Available through Amazon.com.
The Love Life Live Lent Family Book really helps families to develop a caring
approach to others. Great colourful illustrations and lots of things to participate in and think about
with family and friends. -- Families from St. John the Baptist Church, S.E. London
